Mahlon H. Hewitt age 77, of Fairfield, died at 4:00 P.M., Saturday February 24, 2007 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield,IA.

Funeral Services for Mahlon H. Hewitt were 10:30 A.M., Thursday March 1, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Burial with Military Rites followed in Evergreen Cemetery Fairfield, IA.

Mahlon H. Hewitt was born September 8, 1929 to Clement D. and Lena (Hunter) Hewitt. He was united in marriage with Charlotte Turner on June 1952 in Weston, Mo. They are the parents of two sons, John and James.

He was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War. Mahlon has lived in Fairfield Since 1962. He was a school psychologist and held jobs in Scranton, IA, Keokuk, IA, and Fairfield Community Schools. Mahlon was a board member the Libertyville Travelers Club, and his memberships included the Howard Johnson Coffee Club, Pheasants Forever, and B.P.O.E. #1192.

Mahlon is survived by his wife, Charlotte Hewitt of Fairfield, IA, and his sons and their families: John and Beverly Hewitt, and James and Sherri Hewitt, both of Birmingham, IA. He was grandfather to Lena Elizabeth Marie Hewitt and has three step-grandchildren and five step-greatgrandchildren.

Mahlon was preceded by his parents, and two brothers, Homer J. and William C. Hewitt.
