Margaret E. Cooksey, former Jefferson County resident, passed away Friday, July 7, 2006 in Mt. Pleasant, IA at the age of 90. Following her wishes, the casket will be closed.
Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, with Rev. Jim Cecil officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date.
The family requests memorials, in lieu of flowers to be made to Libertyville Fire Department or Libertyville Community Center.

Margaret Elizabeth Cooksey was born October 15, 1915 in Richland, IA, the daughter of John William and Maggie Loeda (Potts) Allison. She lived most of her life in the Jefferson County area.
Margaret married Merrill F. Cooksey in Lancaster, MO on September 14, 1942. They were the parents of four children: Robert, Raymond, Teressa and Randy.
Margaret was employed as a school cook in Libertyville by the Fairfield Community School District for 18 years. She was a devoted mother & homemaker. Margaret enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, Western music and quilting.
Margaret is survived by her children and their families: Robert & Eva Cooksey of Virginia Beach, VA, Raymond & Debbie Cooksey of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Teressa & Gordon Yung of Holdrege, NE and Randy & Deanna Cooksey of Fairfield. Margaret is grandmother to seven grandchildren: Gary Cooksey, Cindy Thompson, Carrie Alverez, Bobbie Graham, Robyn Thomas, Allyson Yung and Cameron Cooksey. She has 13 great grandchildren.
Survivors include one sister, Willa Mae Harrison of Libertyville.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, four brothers: Ira Deyo, Keith Leroy, Merle "Bill" William and John, Jr. "Jack" Allison and one grandson: Christopher John Cooksey.
