Marjorie Ellen Jarmes

Marjorie E. Jarmes, age 77 of Fairfield, IA, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at her home.

Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, IA.

Marjorie Ellen Jarmes was born in Birmingham, IA on February 23, 1932 to Walter and Bertha (Pickerel) Crafton. She lived most of her life in Jefferson County. On December 12, 1975, she was united in marriage with Glen J. Jarmes. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1984.

In addition to being a wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Jarmes was a member of Suburban Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and reading her Bible, and she was a gifted cook and pie baker.

Mrs. Jarmes is survived by her daughter, Denise Snook of Fairfield, IA. She was blessed with four grandchildren: Mike, Jason, Vicki, and Cindy; and nine grandchildren. Survivors included her siblings: Leonard Crafton of Birmingham, IA, Idora Crafton of Keosauqua, IA, Mildred Brown of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Marilyn Rettig of Weaver, IA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter Glenda Cook, son Michael Crafton, grandson Mark Reighard; five brothers: Roy, Bob, Kenneth, Paul and Raymond Crafton; and one sister, Joan Jones.
