Marjorie Munson Linn

Marjorie Munson Linn, 91, former area resident, passed away May 10, 2006 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Graveside funeral services were held at 1:00 PM, following visitation, at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with Rev. Dan Munson officiating.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Methodist Church or the DAR School in Grant, AL, or to charity of choice.

Marjorie Munson Linn was born July 17, 1914, in Stockport, IA, the daughter of Marion and Hattie Munson. At the age of three, the family moved to Keosauqua, and Marjorie graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1932. She graduated from Parsons College, the University of Iowa and the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Marjorie taught school in Iowa, Illinois and Huntsville.

Marjorie married Charles C. Linn in February 15, 1942. He passed away September 9, 1994.

The Linn family moved to the Iowa Ordnance Plant in 1943. In 1955 they moved to Rock Island, IL and in 1962 to Huntsville, AL, where Charles was employed at NASA.

Marjorie was a member of Trinity Methodist church, as well as Wesleyan Guild, XYZ, United Methodist Women, Huntsville Chapter of the DAR, DAC, Colonial Dames, Friendship Club, the Munson Foundation, Senior Friends of Crestwood and a former Red Cross Volunteer.

Marjorie is survived by two sons, Charles M. Linn of Rochester, MI, and Robert A. Linn of Huntsville, AL. She was grandmother to three grandchildren. Survivors include a sister, Eva Wolfe of Mt. Pleasant, IA and a brother, Harold Munson of Lockridge, IA, three nephews and two nieces.
