Marjorie I. Miner, age 94, of Stockport, IA, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Hospice House in Ottumwa, IA.

Family visitation will be held 6:30 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 5th at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with words of comfort offered by Larry Smith. Interment will follow in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport.

Marjorie I. Miner was born in Fairfield, IA on October 17, 1914 to Cullen and Mary (Johnston) Humphrey. She was united in marriage with Lawrence Miner in Memphis, MO on July 20, 1932. She lived most of her life in the Stockport community and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She attended the Methodist Church enjoyed reading and car rides, and she was a gourmet cook.

Surviving Mrs. Miner is her husband of 77 years, Lawrence Miner of Stockport, and her children and their families: Lloyd Miner and Tom Miner both of Stockport, Larry & Carol Miner of Fairfield, and Tim & Sharon Miner of Richland. She was blessed with four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sisters: JoAnn Wiley of Fairfield and Donna Bean of Springfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son and daughter: Jimmie and Janyce; five brothers and three sisters: William, Hollis, Carroll, Lynn, Cullen, Jr, Mary, Genevieve, and Ruth.
