Martha "Katheryne" Smith, age 97, formerly of Fairfield, died November 25, 2009 at Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Ia.

Funeral Services for Katheryne Smith will be 1:30 Monday November 30, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home with words of Comfort by Monty Smith. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, Ia.

Martha "Katheryne" Smith was born to Ralph and Mabel Smith Harper on October 6, 1912 in Fairfield, Iowa. She married Wilbur Smith on March 7,1935. He died January 25, 1987.

Katheryne was a homemaker and enjoyed doing word find and cross word puzzles in earlier years.

Katheryne is survived by her son Merle Smith of Burlington, Ia. 1 grand son, 3 great grand children.

Katheryne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
