Mary Elizabeth Cravens

Mary Elizabeth Cravens, age 74 passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Jefferson County Health Center.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Family and friends are to meet at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a procession to the cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Behner Funeral Home.

Mary was born February 6, 1937 in Fayette, Alabama to John and Audie Tidwell Howton. She married Paul Cravens and he preceded her in death.

She worked at Barker Co. for 10 years and was also a housewife. She enjoyed gardening, needlework, collecting dolls, fishing and flowers.

She is survived by her lifelong partner: Charles Bird, children: Marie Rambo of Fairfield, James Cravens of Fairfield, Emma Welcher of Winfield, Charles E. Bird of Fairfield, Julie Garrison of Fairfield, Ron Bird of Stockport and Tammy Martinez of Salt Lake City, Utah, 14 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren and 3 siblings: Pauline Bryant of Williamport, Indiana, J.W. Howton of East Prarie, Missouri and Carolyn Larson of St. Augustine, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Paul and 1 son: Edward Cravens.
