Max Oliver Emerson, age 82 of Fairfield passed away April 1, 2013 at Jefferson County Health Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am, Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Pastor Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.
Visitation for family and friends will be 9:00 am - 10:30 am, Friday April 5 at Behner Funeral Home.

Max was born April 5, 1930 on the farm in Jefferson County Iowa to Joseph and Helen Brown Emerson. He married Norma J Weirbach on Dec 24, 1948 in Fairfield, IA.
He lived in Fairfield, IA all his life and worked at Louden Machinery Company as a Tool & Die maker for 46 years and retired May 1, 1994. Max enjoyed years of fishing and hunting (particularly deer hunting), NASCAR racing, gardening and was an avid fan of Fairfield High School wrestling. Max was a long time member of Eagle Lodge #1927, Louden Depot Credit Union, and the International Association of Machinists and Aero Space Workers
Max is survived by his wife: Norma of Fairfield, 3 children: Janet K. (Gary) Craven of Boone, Iowa, Bruce A (Cinda) Emerson, Fairfield, IA and Tracy Joseph Emerson of Fairfield, IA,; 6 grandchildren: Kelly J Anderson, Shane Kramer, Tina Devery, Chad Emerson, Damion Goodrich, Gerrad Goodrich; 5 Step Grandchildren: Greg Kramer, Brian Kramer; Erin Boyd, Sarah Blough and Todd Craven; 10 Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Mary Maxine Humphrys of Burlington, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one Brother: Edwin C Emerson and two sisters: Virginia Steckel and Dorothy Allender
