Michael Carr Jones

Michael Carr Jones, age 62, of Libertyville, IA, formerly of Batavia, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

In accordance with his wishes, the body has been cremated. A memorial visitation was held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Michael Carr Jones was born in Ottumwa, IA on October 2, 1944. He was the son of Gerald R. "Casey" and Jesse Jones. He was a resident of the Fairfield community for 35 years where he farmed and was employed as a carpenter.

Michael married Patricia Lee Smith on June 21, 1963. They were the parents of two children, Donna and Todd. Patricia passed away August 14, 1997.

Survivors include his children and their families: Donna Mauck, and Todd Jones, both of Batavia, IA, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother and one step-sister: Patrick Jones of Las Vegas, NV, and Julie Cooper of Des Moines, IA.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, and two sisters: Janet Glenn and Jeri Findley.
