Mildred Marie Creek

Mildred “Millie” Marie Creek, (Gram Cracker) 87, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville, Iowa, followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Faith United Methodist Church or Fell Cemetery, both located in Libertyville.

Millie was born March 8, 1927, in Sherman, Nebraska, the daughter of Emma and William Orrin Manchester.

She married Benny Lee Creek July 3, 1945. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Lee Creek March 23, 1992. She lived in Fairfield most of her life.

Millie loved spending time with her family and was proud of each and every one of them. She was especially tickled by having a great-great-grandson, Zaeden.

She was the Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball teams number-one fan. She enjoyed bird watching and playing cards with her friends. Throughout the years, she worked at Sheaffer Pen in Fort Madison and was a Fairfield Community School District bus driver. Millie and Benny owned Creek Oil Company. She also worked at Sunset Roller Rink and Jim’s Jack and Jill.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville. She enjoyed activities with her Calu friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Rick Lee Creek and Roxie Ann Deutsch; and three brothers Harold, Dean, and Dale Manchester.

Survivors include one son-in-law, Jim Deutsch; four granddaughters, Laura Mineart and spouse John, Amy Essary and spouse Jason, Jamie Keller and spouse Rob, and Amanda Deutsch; 10 great-grandkids, Haley Essary, Kaitlyn Mineart, Jacob Mineart, Madison Mineart, Dagen Essary, Brendan Miller, Jamie Miller, Riley Keller, Brook Keller and Avery Keller; and great-great-grandson, Zaeden Watsey
