Mildred E. Fickel age 96, passed away Friday Jan. 4 2008 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, Iowa.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday January 7, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Funeral services will held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Metz officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or to donor's choice.

Mildred E. Fickel was born November 19, 1911 to John F. and Elizabeth (Stewart) Stull. She married Emery Fickel Dec. 31, 1931 in Monmouth, Ill. He died in 1981.

Mildred has been a resident of the Fairfield community since 1967 with her previous residence of Batavia, IA. She was a teacher for 8 years, and a Nurse's Aid at Jefferson County Hospital from 1967 to 1977. Mildred was a past Matron of Arbor Vista # 327 of Batavia, past Noble Grand of the former Rachel Rabekah Lodge of Eldon, 50 year member of Doud's Order of Eastern Star in Batavia, a 4H leader, and a member of First United Methodist Church of Fairfield,IA.

Mildred is survived by her five grandchildrenand their families: Lynda Henning, Dan Tedrow, Dale Tedrow, Darryl Tedrow, Mandy Morris. Mildred has 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Mildred was preceded by her parents, husband , one daughter, Ilene Tedrow, two grandchildren, and four sisters: Edith Giltner, Mabel Parker, Nellie Peebler, Hazel Stull, and 1 infant sister.
