Mildred Lucille Miller

M. Lucille Miller, age 100, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Parkview Home in Wayland, IA.

Open visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. She requested her casket to be closed.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Faith Christian Outreach Center in Mt. Pleasant, IA with Pastor Gary Van Nyhuis officiating. Interment will be in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery in Winfield, IA.

Mildred 'Lucille' Miller was born in Shenandoah, IA on June 5, 1908 to Charles Edwin and Minerva Roseta (Smith) Ripley. She graduated from Stuart High School in Stuart, IA. Lucille was united in marriage with Ira 'Buzz' Miller in Greenfield, IA on July 17, 1926. He passed away March 24, 1976.

Lucille was a devoted wife and mother. She was employed as a clerk for 25 years at Martha Brown, Ltd. in Fairfield, where the family moved in 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield and her many memberships included the Maxine Bates Circle, two bridge clubs, Richwood willing workers, and she was a 60 year member of TTT and Eastern Star.

Lucille is survived by her children and their families: Verlee Miller of Wayland, IA, Beverly Royer of Winfield, IA, R. Craig Miller and wife Gail, of Fairfield, IA. Lucille was blessed with nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Lucille in death are her parents, husband, son Kenneth, three sisters and one brother: Lenora McPherson, Helen Ratliff, Virginia Bunce, and Clarence Ripley.
