Norma Jean Hill

Norma Jean Hill, age 67 of Fairfield, passed away January 6, 2015 at her home.

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Hope Lutheran Church, Germanville, IA with Rev. Len Brokenshire officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.

Norma was born February 17, 1947 to Charles and Velma (Ruge) Buskirk in Iowa City, IA. She married Larry Dean Hill April 29, 1967 in Davenport, IA.

Norma worked in the Dietary and Housekeeping Department for 21 years at the Jefferson County Hospital and both Sunnybrook Living Care Center and Sunnybrook Assisted Living. After retiring she was a cook during noon lunch hour at the Eagles. Norma was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Eagles Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary. Some of her hobbies were to collect salt & pepper shakers, cookbooks and teddy bears (Christmas). Norma liked to crochet, play bingo and dancing. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends. Most of all she loved being with family including her children, grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her husband, Larry Hill of Fairfield, IA; one daughter, Connie Lee Brown of Washington, IA; one son, James Michael Hill of Fairfield, IA; 7 grandchildren, Dakota James Hill, Spencer Lee Brown, Tugg Alden Hill, Montana Marie Hill, Sierra Elizabeth Brown, Bailey Jo Hill and Maddox James Edward Hill; 6 siblings, Ellen (Carmen) Conklin of Blue Grass, IA, Mary Wulf of Moline, IL, Janet (Harry) Stahl of Erie, IL, Jim (Deb) Buskirk of Le Claire, IA, Ronnie (Robin) Buskirk of Eldridge, IA and Ruth Weir of Brighton, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Velma Buskirk; one brother, Ralph Buskirk; one twin brother, Fred at infancy; and one infant grandson, Skyler Brown.
