Norma Lee Ulm

Norma Lee Ulm, age 72 of Fairfield, IA, passed away December 28, 2009 at home.

Following her wishes her body will be cremated. Family visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairfield Walton Club. Celebration of Life Services will start at 12:00 noon at the club with Words of Comfort by Rev. Richard Wallarab.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Fairfield Walton Club.

Mrs. Ulm was born February 7, 1937 in Ft. Madison, IA to Chester and Ruth Drew. She married Donald Ulm on August 19, 1955.

To her family she was the glue that held it together and told it like it was.

She assisted her husband at Mayn's Grocery in Fairfield for 20 years and later worked as a bookkeeper at Finishing Touch for 13 years. She also enjoyed reading, was an excellent cook and enjoyed playing golf and cards with her friends at the Walton Club.

In addition to her family, she will be missed by friends and her constant companion dew dau, the family dog.

Norma is survived by her family including: Luann Ulm Camp (Leland) of Waverly, IA; Deb Hampton (Lance) of Middletown, IA; and Janette Miller (Dennis) of Sullivan, MO. Grandchildren: Ryan Kurka (Sabrina), Denny Miller (Andreana), Shae McCabe (Crystal), Lee Kurka (Kathy), Jessica Miller, Corey Miller, Sarah Miller, Mallory Camp, Kelsey Hampton, and Kyle Hampton and eight great-grandchildren.
