Oscar "Keith" Pencil

Oscar “Keith” Pencil age 89 of Libertyville, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at his home.

Visitation for family & friends will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., April 13, 2023, at Behner Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m., April 14, 2023, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Helterbran officiating.

Inurnment with be at Richland Friends Cemetery following the service.

Keith was born February 28, 1934, in Richland to Oscar and Velma (Wood) Pencil.  He married Mary Helen Clark on August 2, 1962.  This last year they celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Keith lived all his life in the Jefferson and Van Buren Counties.  He served in the National Guard and after his time in the service he started farming and trucking.  Keith enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching girls’ basketball.  His greatest reward was being able to help people.  Keith will be greatly missed by his family & friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Libertyville; two children, Linda Pencil and Robert (Kim) Pencil; four grandchildren, Katie, Makayla, Mason and Austin; three great grandchildren, Vaeda, Kaetom and Maddix; three nieces and one nephew.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Velma; one sister, Lucille; and brother, Larry.
