Patricia A. Chambers

March 21, 1941 — July 29, 2017

Patricia A. (Estes) Chambers, 76, of Ollie, died July 29, 2017 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband Don Chambers of 40 years; her three children Brett Page and wife Linette of Kirksville, M.O., Christy Page of Bloomington, I.N. and Trisha Page Hamm and husband Ed of West Burlington, I.A. She was born in Ollie on Mar. 21, 1941, to Leslie Estes and Edna (Bond) Estes. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Emmack and niece, Kathy Emmack both of Wheatridge, C.O., and predeceased by brothers, Ray and Keith Estes. She is survived by six grandchildren — Kim, Matt, Erica, Adam, Derek and Holly. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren — Sydney, Hayden, Grayson, Lachlan, Amelia, Madison and Gannon. Her friends from Ollie High School remember her as an outstanding basketball player and excellent student. Future Pekin students remember her as a friendly smile in the morning as she picked them up on the school bus each morning and drove them home from school each afternoon rain or shine. Later in life she and Don continued with her love of sports by taking up golf and attending the sports events of grandchildren and most recently great grandchildren. She loved her flowers and bushes and with her eye for landscape design, created beautiful yet welcoming surrounding for her home. Her passion for flowers and décor continued into every room of her home creating what her grandchildren considered a secret garden and almost fairy tale “grandma’s house” complete with cupcakes and an excited welcome. She liked a clever joke, a Pepsi and a good book. She enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the squirrels play and the birds flutter from birdhouse to feeder singing their special songs. In the last few years she and Don took almost daily rides to Lake Darling to count the deer. Lake Darling became a special place to both of them. All services will be private but friends are always welcome to stop by the house and share a cup of coffee on the porch. Your comfort will be welcome. Memorial contributions to Friends of Lake Darling. Memorials and cards can be sent to: 307 West South St. box 62, Ollie, IA. 52576. On-line condolences can be made to the family at: behnerfh.com.
