Patricia E. Heckethorn

Patricia E. Heckethorn, age 77 of Fairfield, IA, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Family visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 7 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Interment will be in Spencer Cemetery in Stockport, IA.

Patricia E. Heckethorn was born in Fairfield, IA September 8, 1931 to Charles 'Fred' and Ethel (Bellamy) Weaver. She was united in marriage with Vern Heckethorn on her birthday in 1946. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1992.

Mrs. Heckethorn was employed at Universal Producing, and drove a neighborhood ice cream truck. She was a member of Eagles Lodge #1927 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary, both in Fairfield. She enjoyed crochet, crafts, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children and their families: Judith (Michael) Troxel of Fairfield, Joseph Heckethorn of Stockport, IA, Mitzi Vestal of Centerville, IA, Gloria Glass of Aurora, IL, Robert Heckethorn of Fairfield, and Cindy Hootman of Mascoutah, IL. Mrs. Heckethorn was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include siblings: Richard Weaver, Janet Garner of Decatur, IL, Roxanna McDole of Washington, IA, and Deanna Cooksey of Fairfield, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Kenneth Weaver, Robert Weaver, Myrna Whitaker, Virginia Essary; and two great-grandchildren.
