P. Joan Charbonneau

            P. Joan Charbonneau, 98, a resident of rural New London, Iowa, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington. 

            Joan was born September 1, 1925, the daughter of Meryle and Pauline Stephens.  She was the oldest of 11 children. Joan married Delmar Charbonneau on April 14, 1943.

            She is survived by her daughter, Patsy (Warren) Wilson; grandchildren, Darren (Tammy) Wilson, Arron Wilson, Angela (Scott) Overton, and Jamie Brown; great-grandchildren, Dalton Overton, Karisa Overton, Chase Brown, and Matt Nichols; and sister, Myrlene Eubanks. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents, Meryle and Pauline Stephens; her husband, Delmar; her daughter, Sandra Brown, sons, Doug and Sharon Charbonneau; grandson Lonnie Brown; brothers, Hal, Adrian, Ted, Ray, Bob, and Jack; and sisters, Mary Lou, Delaine, and Jill. 

            Per Joan’s wishes, her body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. May 11, 2024 at Edwards Cemetery in Oakville. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Oakville Community Center.
