Pearl Standley, age 99, of Fairfield, passed away at Parkview Care Center, Wednesday, May 28, 2008.
Family visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:30 AM, Monday, June 2, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Rev. Jim Wotherspoon and Adam Standley will co-officiate. Burial will be held in Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pearl I. Standley was born nearly 100 years ago on August 23, 1908 in Van Buren County. She was the daughter of Clinton Elmer and Mabel (Morris) Huff. Pearl was a graduate of Bonaparte High School and earned a degree in elementary education at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Pearl taught rural school, and in Lockridge and Fairfield as well.
Pearl was united in marriage with Alvah Raymond Standley in May of 1930. He died August 11, 1970. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield and the Order of the White Shrine.
Pearl is survived by their son and his family, Jack Standley and wife Nina, of Duncombe, IA. She was blessed with two grandchildren, and three step-grandchilren, as well as 10 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sisters and one brother: Jean Rathmel and Marianne Schrepfer, both of Bonaparte, IA, and Clinton Huff of Brookings, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers: Mary, Edna, Eunice, Alice, Ben and Morris.
