Penny Lou Eklund

Penny Lou Eklund, age 55 of Birmingham, Iowa passed away November 16, 2014 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield, Iowa.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday November 19, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM, Thursday, November 20,2014 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Art Sathoff officiating. Burial will be at Fell Cemetery in Libertyville, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or Jefferson County Health Center. Cards and Memorials can be sent to; 18754 Hwy 16, Birmingham, Iowa 52535.

Penny was born November 30, 1958 to Robert B. and Bertie Lou (King) Dlouhy in Fairfield, Iowa. She Married Mark Eklund on July 27, 2001 in Bonaparte, Iowa.

For the last 14 years Penny and Mark lived in Birmingham. She worked at B & B Propane in Eldon as a customer service representative for 4 years. Penny enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her three grandsons. She enjoyed going for motorcycle rides and boating on the lake during the summer. Penny liked listening to country music especially to George Strait.

Penny is survived by her husband, Mark Eklund of Birmingham, Iowa; One son, Cole (Katie) Boatright of Fairfield, Iowa and One daughter Claire Boatright of Moline, Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Benett, Brice and Balen Boatright of Fairfield, Iowa; her mother, Bertie Lou Davidson of Fairfield, Iowa; 2 sisters, Dee (Eddie) Spees of Birmingham, Iowa; Pat( Dennis) Davis of Batavia, Iowa; 2 brothers, Bob Dlouhy of Fairfield, Iowa; Dick (Kristi) Dlouhy of Pine Hurst, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Dlouhy; and one brother, Gary Dlouhy.
