Phillip B. Egel

            Phillip B. Egel, 74, formerly of rural Libertyville, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, surrounded by his family at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

            Graveside services were held Friday, December 15, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois.

            Phillip was born February 15, 1949 in Chicago, the son of Irving and Rosalind R. (Zoldan) Egel. He worked in the kitchen for the VA Hospital in Miami, Florida for 35 years. Phillip was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Chiefs.

Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Karen-Jo Frescoln of Libertyville; nephew, Stephen and his wife, Gayle Frescoln of Van Horne, Iowa; nieces, Lillian Frescoln of Libertyville, and Heidi Frescoln of Batavia; great-nephews, Parker, Preston, Jonathan, and Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and best friend and brother-in-law, Robert Frescoln.
