Phyllis Jean Snook

Phyllis J. Snook, age 65, of Fairfield, IA, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Washington Care Center in Washington, IA.

Family visitation will be held 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 10th at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 11th, at the funeral home with Rev. Lloyd Osborn officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Douds, IA.

Phyllis Jean Snook was born September 15, 1943 in Sewal, IA to Earnest W. and Mildred L. (Rollins) Osborn. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961, and was united in marriage with Glenn W. Snook in Danville, IL on November 29, 1968. He preceded her in death May 30, 1982.

Mrs. Snook was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a factory employee for seven years with J & B Plastics and American Chain and Cable. She was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her children and their families: Wendy (LeRoy) Jewell of Iowa City, IA, Melinda (Troy) Clark of Fairfield, and David (Pamela) Fishel, also of Fairfield. Mrs. Snook was blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchidren. Survivors include siblings: Lois (Bill) Nickleson of Birmingham, IA, Duain (Kayren) Osborn of Keota, IA, Shirley (Kenny) Van Aken of Belton, MO, Floyd (Judy) Osborn, of Rock Falls, IL, Lloyd (Irene) Osborn of Ottumwa, IA, Delbert Osborn of Fairfield, and Sharon (Bill) Thomas, also of Ottumwa.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, step daughter and step-grandson.
