Rae "Kathleen" Linderson Billingsley age 90 of Fairfield, Iowa passed away September 7, 2012 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Word of Life Lutheran Church in Fairfield with Pastors Chris Fiske and Alfred Kruse officiating. Burial will be at the Glasgow Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Rae "Kathleen" Billingsley was born March 22, 1922 to Ray A. and Mary Theresa Coughlin Linderson in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Roy Bower Billingsley on August 24, 1944 at the First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge, Iowa.

Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, living most of her life in the rural Glasgow area. She taught Public School music in Ainsworth Comm. Schools, Gilbert, Iowa, Cons. School, Lockridge Public Schools and in the Fairfield Public Schools. She served as either pianist, organist or choir director in the First Augustana Lutheran Church for over sixty years. She served as rural chairman for Jefferson County Cancer Board; past president and member of Fairfield Women's Club; past president and member of PEO chapter MB; charter board member of Greater Jefferson Co. Foundation; Community Concert Board; and Round Prairie girls 4-H club leader for several years. Her hobbies were music, gardening, knitting, and cooking.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Roy Billingsley of Fairfield, Iowa, two daughters and spouses: Jennifer (Nelson) Anderson of Lockridge, Iowa and Lisa (John) Reindl of Cedar Falls, Iowa. Four grandchildren: Libby Reindl and Natalie Reindl of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Mitch Anderson and Katelyn Anderson of Lockridge, Iowa, son-in-law Col. (Ret.) Rob Anderson of York Harbor, Maine.

Kathleen is preceded by her parents, 1 daughter Diane Billingsley Anderson, and 1 sister Mary Louise in infancy.
