Randy William Popejoy

Randy William Popejoy, 60, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away July 31, 2007 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ following a courageous two-month battle with cancer.

Randy grew up in Pleasant Plain, IA, and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1965. He served honorably in the Viet Nam conflict. During his career, Randy owned a tire business in Ames, IA and an appliance store in Corydon, IA, followed by a successful sales career in siding, motorhomes, and residential water systems. Randy enjoyed Arizona Diamondbacks baseball, golf, racing, restoring old cars, and being with family and friends.

Memorial Services were held 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Pleasant Plain Friends Church, with Pastor Stan Bauer officiating.

Randy moved to Phoenix in 1986 with his wife, Jill, where they raised two daughters, Kelly and Kate. Randy is also survived by his daughter Donni and son-in-law Chad Alley of Des Moines, daughter Melanie of Phoenix, daughter Dana and her husband Brad Draper, his father and mother Bill and Virginia Popejoy of Pleasant Plain, sister Dixie Inman of Chicago, IL, sister Peggy and brother-in-law George Kerr of Polk City, IA, and several loving nieces and nephews.

Randy, you are the "rock" that holds this family together and we miss you always.
