Reid Dale Campbell, age 89, passed away January 3, 2014 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living, Fairfield, IA.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, January 6, 2014 at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory in Fairfield.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Lebanon United Methodist officiated by Rev. Mark Young. Burial will be after the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA with military rites by the Douds American Legion.

Memorials may be made to Douds American Legion and Douds or Lebanon United Methodist Church. Cards and memorials can be sent to: 240 Lockmoor Ave., North Liberty, Iowa 52317.

Reid was born September 10, 1924 to Lloyd George and Alice Rose (Heaton) Campbell in Mt. Lake, MN. He married Velma Lorene Watson February 19, 1945 in Iowa City, IA. She passed away March 2007.

He served in the US Army during WW II and he was a retired farmer. He farmed over 50 years in the Stockport and Lebanon areas and enjoyed working with the livestock. He and Velma enjoyed dancing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends. He was a member of the Douds American Legion.

Reid is survived by his children: B. Dale (Rose) Campbell of Port Byron, IL, Darlene (Rich) Peterson of North Liberty, IA, Duane (Stella) Campbell of Bloomfield, IA, Dorcie (Dean) Worrell of West Point, IL and Audrey (Dan) Meyer of Walford, IA; 7 grandchildren: Lena Mann, Mindy Boyd, Joshua Hervey, Matthew Hervey, Samantha Meyer, Chris Campbell and Stephanie Meyer; 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 3 brothers: Gordon, Lynn & Neil Campbell.
