Richard Boyd Jr.

Richard Dwayne Boyd Jr. age 50 of Fairfield, passed away January 17, 2020.

Visitation for family & friends will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2020, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Packwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to Jesse Boyd, 1201 ½ South Main, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Richard was born July 16, 1969, to Richard Dwayne and Lauretta Joyce Fray O’Laughlin Boyd Sr in Ottumwa, Iowa.  He married Tycene Morris and they later divorced.

Richard graduated from Fairfield High School.  He worked several years at Tiger Hawk.  Richard collected, knives, lighters, and lights.  He watched various movies, enjoyed woodworking and helping others in need.

Richard will be missed by his children, Jesse Boyd of Fairfield and Arianna (Damien) Teague of Valley Alabama; step children,  Shawna (Brandon) Ulmer of Brighton, CO, Summer Helmick and Ashley Kemps; 7 grandchildren, Isabella, Zakaria, William, Mason, Teagan, Logan and Alizah; his father, Richard (Nancy Meddings) Boyd Sr. of Ottumwa; 3 siblings, Shari (Dennis) Bond of Wayland, IA, Kathy Brown of Birmingham, IA and Toni Giberson of West Point, IA; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Lauretta Boyd; brother Loren Dwayne at infancy; paternal grandparents, John and Clara Boyd; and maternal grandparents, Ivan and Lucille Fray.
