FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT 2:00 PM, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2005 AT THE FIRST AUGUSTANA LUTHERAN CHURCH IN LOCKRIDGE, IA WITH REV. DAVID FRANKER OFFICIATING.

Richard Hostetler was born in Salina, IA on December 11, 1925. He was the son of Arthur and Hazel Amelia (Nelson) Hostetler. He married Lois LaVon Boos on February 25, 1950 in Lockridge. They were the parents of Deborah Kay, Gerald Lee and Marcia Sue.

Richard lived most of his life in the Lockridge area before moving to Fairfield a few years ago. He was a Marine corps veteran. Richard was a bulldozing contractor and farmed with his son, Gerald. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and playing cards and pool with his friends. Richard also enjoyed gardening and sharing its harvest. He was a member of the First Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge and the Fairfield "Weakender's" camping and card club.

Richard is survived by his wife, Lois, and his children and their families; Deborah Kay and husband Jim Johnson of Fairfield, IA, Gerald Lee and wife Donna Hostetler of North Liberty, IA, and Marcia Sue and husband Craig Barnes of British Columbia, Canada. Richard was grandfather to 8 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 3.

Precedeasing Richard are his parents, two brothers, Raymond and Paul and one sister, Dorothy Steele.
