Richard E. Olson

Richard E. Olson, age 85, of Fairfield, formerly of McGregor, IA, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Funeral services were conducted at 7:00 PM, with cremation following the service. Inurnment will be in Luana Cemetery in Luana, IA at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Olson's memory to Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Richard E. Olson was born February 12, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of Harry and May (Clark) Olson. He lived most of his life in the Des Moines area before relocating to Fairfield.

He was united in marriage with Marjorie Freeman in 1950, and she passed away July 2, 2002. Mr. Olson was employed for 31 years as a meat cutter, first for Iowa Pack Company and later for Swift, Co. He was a member of the Wakonda Christian Church and the Iowa Pack Retirees Club.

Mr. Olson is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Duayne and Donna Freeman of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjorie, one niece and one nephew.
