Richard "Dick" Edward Johnson

Richard “Dick” Edward Johnson age 79 of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Addington Place in Fairfield.

Dick was born May 4, 1943, in Pleasant Plain, IA to Charles and Nita (Hodson) Johnson.  He married Diane Cole on October 16, 1966.  They celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Dick served in the National Guard from 1964 – 1970.  He worked at Louden/ACCO for 37 years.  Dick was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed watching NASACAR.  Most important was his family.  Diane and Dick loved following their children and grandchildren’s activities.

He will be missed by his wife Diane Johnson of Fairfield; two children, Sherry (Chad) Bemis of Packwood and Ron (Traci) Johnson of Simpsonville, SC; 6 grandchildren, Tyler (Claire) Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Parker Johnson, Emily Bemis, Madison Bemis and Cade Bemis; his siblings, Dennis (Judy) Johnson, Kathy (Greg) Kuhlenbeck and Jeff (Erin) Johnson.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nita; two brothers, Raymond and Donald; and one sister, Diana.

A graveside celebration of life service for both Dick and Diane will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2023, at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.
