Rickey Ray Carter

Rickey Ray Carter, age 67, passed away October 3, 2014 at the University Of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City, IA.

Per Rickey’s wishes the body has been cremated.

A Graveside memorial service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Antioch Cemetery with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.

Rickey Ray Carter was born June 5, 1947 to Leonard Ray and Doris Francis (Minster) Carter in Fairfield, IA.

He attended Smith Warren School in Ottumwa, IA. Rickey enjoyed going to Camp Sunnyside in the summers. He loved dogs, listening to music and visiting with people. Rickey’s favorite snack was eating Sterzing’s potato Chips and drinking Mountain Dew. He moved to the REM Home in Coralville, IA August 1, 2014.

Rickey is survived by his two sisters, Rita Haynes of Fairfield, IA, and Robin (Jim) Elder of Batavia, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Doris Carter; and brother in law, “Skeeter” Charles LeRoy Haynes.
