Robert "Bob" Briggs, age 77 of Lockridge, IA, passed away Friday, August 17 at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, IA.
Funeral services were conducted 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Interment with Military Rites was held in Lockridge Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Lockridge Cemetery, Lockridge Lions Club or the First Augustana Lutheran Church.

Robert "Bob" Briggs was born February 3, 1930 in Lockridge, IA to John and Ollie (Erickson) Briggs. He lived all his life in the Lockridge community, graduating from Lockridge High School. Bob is a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict.
Bob was united in marriage with Jane Wells in Ottumwa on September 5, 1954. They are the parents of two daughters: Tammy and Trudy.
Bob was employed by the CB&O Railroad for 8 years and in 1956 he began a 40 year career at the sand plant in Rome, IA. In addition, he was plant manager for Ideal Ready Mix in Farmington, retiring in 1997. Bob was a member of First Augustana Lutheran Church and Church Board in Lockridge. He was a member of the Lockridge Lions Club and a recipient of the Melvin Jones award. In addition, he was a member of the Lockridge Cemetery Board, Lockridge City Council and past Fire Chief of the Lockridge Fire Department.
Surviving Bob are his wife, Jane of Lockridge, and his daughters and their families: Tammy & Hank Rauscher, and Trudy & Keith Rich, all of Lockridge, and five grandchildren. Survivors include one sister, Verna Spangler and husband Harold of Washington.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
