Robert A. Lawson

Robert A. Lawson, age 87 of Fairfield passed away August 20, 2013 at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield, Iowa.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory in Fairfield.

Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, with Pastor Art Sathoff officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Military Rites, and a luncheon will follow at the Eagles Club.

Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ or to the Helping Hands Ministry at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Fairfield, Iowa.

Robert was born January 9, 1926 in Birmingham, Iowa to Frank George and Ethel (Gumm) Lawson. He married Betty Mae Louth February 20, 1944 in Fairfield, Iowa. She passed away January 14, 2010.

Robert served in the Army during WW II. Bob retired from Louden Co. after 45 years. He managed Louden's Depot Credit Union for 30 Years. He was a member of the Eagles Club and VFW. He enjoyed square dancing. Bob was an active member of First Christian Church and worked with Helping Hands at First Christian Church. He loved spending time with family and friends. He knew and loved so many people, and he will be greatly missed.

Robert is survived by 1 Daughter: Carmalee (Kim) Manary of Conroe, TX, 1 Daughter-in-law: Cathy Lawson of Fairfield, 3 grandsons: Jacob, Jordan, and Ethan Lawson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Betty Mae, 1 son: Robert A. Lawson Jr., 1 Daughter: Cindy Lou Lawson, and also his 9 siblings.
