Robert W. Smith

Robert Smith, age 101 passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society in Keosauqua.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Zion Bible Church, with Pastor Mike Mosier officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to his great-grandson's (Brandon Smith) medical expenses. Cards and memorials can be sent to Bobbie Smith P.O. Box 42 Birmingham, Iowa 52535.

Robert was born in Birmingham on August 22, 1909 to Pearl and Mamie Grammer Smith. He married Nellie Hendricks on July 21, 1928 at the Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. She passed away on September 22, 2001.

He was an Inspector for Louden Machinery Co. for 40 years. He was a member of Zion Bible Church.

Robert is survived by 1 daughter: Carolyn (Vern) Dorothy of Mt. Pleasant, 1 son: Bobbie (Janet) Smith of Birmingham, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 infant son, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
