Robert Walker, age 86 of Fairfield, passed away Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield, IA. His body has been cremated

A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairfield Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 10:30 AM, with Rev. Mark Brase officiating. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.

Robert Dale Walker was born in Bloomville, OH on August 1, 1922 to Carl and Christena (Munz) Walker. He served in the United States Coast Guard and was united in marriage with Florence Eileen Lauer on June 28, 1975. Robert was a staff supervisor for New York Telephone. He was a member of Walton Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Surviving Robert is his wife, Florence, of Fairfield, and their children and families: JoAnne Staffa, Marilyn Vogelien, Jean Walter, Valerie McCauley, and John Weissheier. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents, brothers and sisters.
