Robert “Bob” Dean Adam of Fairfield, passed away on November 19, 2022, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines surrounded by his family.
Bob was born in Washington, IA on June 10, 1951, to Elmer and Harriet Greiner Adam. He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1969 and completed the Farm Mechanic Technical Program at Indian Hills Community College.
He married Kriste Hunter in 1977; they later divorced. He married Nan Linn in 1991; they later divorced.
A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, he farmed until retiring in 2000. Still a steward and lover of the land and all that grew on it, Bob spent his retirement gardening, hunting, fishing, and maintaining his lawn and many others in the community. He looked forward to delicious Sunday dinners prepared by Chris and Jody Kessel. During baseball season, no one dared root for any team but the Cardinals in his presence.
He is survived by his siblings, Dennis (Andra) Adam, Bonnie (Mike) Kessel, Charles Adam, Joe (JoAnn) Adam all of Fairfield and Janice (Mike) McDonough of Ottumwa; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Awaiting him in eternity are his parents, brother James Adam, infant nephew James Adam, and his beloved dog, Nae Nae.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Iowa Methodist Hospital and Mary Ames & family for their kindness and compassion these last few months.
A grateful beneficiary of organ donation, Bob would ask that memorials be made to the Iowa Donor Network or his parish, St. Mary Catholic Church. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Joe Adam, 2389 Glasgow Road, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.
