Robert "Papa Smurf" L. Smalley

Robert  "Papa Smurf" L. Smalley, age 68 of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Jefferson County Health Center.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 11, 2019, at Behner Funeral Home

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Stockport Christian Church with Pastor Gary VanNyhuis officiating.  Cremation will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.  Cards and memorials may be mailed to Judy Heisel, PO Box 64, Stockport, IA 52651.

Robert was born August 8, 1951 in Jefferson, IA to William and Olive (Harris) Smalley.

Robert worked for Rockwell as a tool designer & drafter and Reiff Grain & Feed as a mechanic.

Some of his interests were fishing, watching old westerns and James Bond movies.  If you went to see Robert you would probably find him in the garage working on either one of his families or friend’s cars.  He looked forward to spending time with his kids, grandkids and family.

Left to share his memory are his children, Judy (Brent) Heisel of Stockport, IA, Ryan Smalley of Germantown, WI and Robyn Smalley of West Bend, WI; 7 grandchildren, Jake (Fiancé Cassie Riegel) Heisel of Stockport, Brandon Heisel of Keosauqua, Megan Heisel of Stockport, Dakota, Trevor, Justin, Amber, Serenity Pisano all of Springfield, SD; one great grandchild; and brother, Kenneth (Jean) Smalley of Mark, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Olive; brother, William Smalley; daughter, Brenda Pisano; son, Robert Smalley Jr; and a grandchild.
