Rollie Zihlman age 100 of Fairfield passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Parkview Care Center.
Visitation for family & friends will be 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Hope Lutheran Church, Germanville, IA.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 25, 2017 with Pastor Ryan Dexter officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Lockridge Cemetery.

Rollie was born September 24, 1916 to Lucas Edward and Mida (Essley) Zihlman in Camp Golden Valley IA. He married Elsie Bekel August 4, 1973.
Rollie served in the US Army during WW II stationed in Africa and Italy and was the first to leave Fairfield. He worked at the Iowa Ordinance Plant in Middletown, IA for 25 years as a light equipment operator. Rollie was a member of the Eagles, VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed coon hunting, mushroom hunting, playing cards and spending time with family & friends.
Rollie is survived by his wife, Elsie of Fairfield; one sister, Helen Wixom, of Keokuk, IA; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Mida Zihlman; two brothers, Glen and Lloyd; and six sisters, Hannah, Elma Jacobs, Gladys Swailses, Vera Wehrle and Edna Van Der Snick and Leora Clark.
