Ron 'Ronsel' Hansel, age 34, of Keosauqua, IA, passed away, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. The body will be cremated.

Family visitation will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, August 11, 2008 at Pleasant Plain Friends Church in Pleasant Plain, IA, with Pastor Stan Bauer officiating. Inurnment will be in Friends Cemetery in Pleasant Plain.

Ron Hansel was born in Lincoln, NE on October 2, 1973 to Gary and Sharon (Davis) Hansel. He graduated from Van Buren High School with the Class of 1993, where he played football.

Ron was employed as a concrete and construction worker for Carlson Concrete for 8 years and Schaus-Vorhies Construction. He was an outdoor sportsman and his hobbies included fishing, and hunting and playing with his dogs, Winchester,and Junior. He was generally a happy person and will be deeply missed by his family and his friends.

Ron is survived by his mother, Sharon West of Hillsboro, IA, and his father Gary Hansel and wife Linda of Lincoln, NE, and his siblings and their families, all of Lincoln: Gary D. Hansel and fiance Jen Bashore , Shawn Hansel and wife Melanie, and Tyler Hansel. Survivors include his grandparents, Homer and Wilma West of E. Pleasant Plain, IA, and a niece and nephew, Chloe and Noah Hansel

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and an uncle, Ronald Davis, maternal grandfather.
