Ronald E. Dailey

Ronald E. Dailey, 81, a resident of Packwood, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. 

 A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Prairie Center Cemetery in Packwood, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Veterans Home. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements. 

 Ron was born October 28, 1942 in Fairfield, the son of Clyde and Thelma (Hickenbottom) Dailey. Ron served in the United States Army for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He worked for Dickey Transport for many years. He enjoyed watching football and car racing, and was an avid bingo player. 

 Those left to honor his memory include his children, Kristie (Keith) Stanfield and Jimmy Dailey, both of Opelika, Alabama; grandchildren, Jonathon and Jacob Gates; sister, Rhonda (Bruce) Beadle of Ottumwa; and his nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Dailey; and sister, Enola Neff.
