Rosetta Joy Parcell

Rosetta Joy Parcell age 86 of Fairfield passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Jefferson County Health Center, Fairfield, IA

Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday, August 26, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 10:30 am, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Pittsburg Cemetery, Pittsburg, IA with officiating by Sheila Parcell-Smith and words of comfort by Wes Greenfield.

Rosetta was born January 12, 1930 to C. Lloyd and Lela Cordelia (Channel) Greenfield in Birmingham, IA. She married Glenn F. Parcell July 1, 1955. He passed away August 13, 1988.

Glenn and Rosetta owned the Sears catalog store, was a sales person for KMCD and a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, bowled on a women’s bowling league and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Rosetta was an avid Hawkeye Basketball and Chicago Bulls fan. The most important to her was spending time with her grandkids.

Rosetta is survived by her 4 children, Sheila (LeRoy) Parcell-Smith of Fairfield, IA, Randall (Lynne) Parcell of Winterset, IA, Michael (Renee) Parcell of Fairfield, IA and Douglas (Brenda) Parcell of Batavia, IA; 12 grandchildren, Chuck Hoekstra, Nikki Miller, Eric Hoekstra, Emily Lowe, Whitney Wallace, Tommy Brower, Tiffany Brower, Shafer Harris, Cody Harris, Scott Houser, Lani Luckman and China Burton; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one brother, Charles (Marlys) Greenfield of Las Vegas, NV.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C. Lloyd and Lela; her husband Glenn Parcell; one daughter, Linda Garrison; and one brother Donel Greenfield.
