Ruth Delores Godwin was born at home March 8, 1937 in Glasgow, Iowa. She was the daughter of Russell and Mary (Morris) Keller.

Ruth grew up in the Fairfield area and married Glenn Godwin on February 17, 1961. They were the parents of Wesley, Gail and Mary.

Ruth was employed as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Parkview Care Center, Nelson Nursing Home and the Presbyterian Home in Washington, Iowa. She was a librarian at the Packwood Library and involved with Meals on Wheels at the Senior Center in Fairfield.

Ruth is survived by her children and their families: Wesley Godwin of Packwood, Iowa, Gail and Todd Brown of Richland, Iowa and Mary Woodson of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Ruth was grandmother to 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren. Survivors include two sisters: Ruby Dimmitt and Maxine Keller, both of Fairfield.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Glenn, on September 13, 1980 and an infant sister, Lydia Keller.
