Ruth Margarite Hale Hilleary

Ruth Margarite Hale Hilleary was born September 3, 1912, in Burlington, IA. She passed away April 18, 2007 in Fairfield, IA.

A memorial service will be held 10;30 AM, Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield. Inurnment will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Danville, IA following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Ruth spent her childhood in Ft. Madison, IA. She married Julius Lawson Hilleary June 17, 1929, and moved to Fairfield as a bride. She lived her entire adult life in Fairfield.

Ruth enjoyed reading, sewing, and being an excellent homemaker. After raising her family she became an energetic genealogist and member of the Jefferson County Genealogy Society. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Ruth will always be missed by her five children: Shirley Dee (Paul) Strathman of Mason City, IA, James (Jackie Darr) Hilleary of Placentia, CA, Joy (Bruce) Curtis of East Lansing, MI, Jack (Paula) Hilleary of La Selva Beach, CA, and Morris Hilleary of Palm Springs, CA, and her 13 grandchildren: Susan Strathman Keil, Steven Strathman, Michael Strathman, Julie Hilleary Reichardt, Jan Rene' Hilleary Ashman, Jamie Hilleary Kozlevcar, Jenna Hilleary Flannery, Hilary Curtis Arthur, Jason Curtis, Ruth Hilleary Yarme, Stevie Hilleary, Eric Hilleary, and Shay Hilleary Lawrey, as well as her 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Julius Hilleary, her brother Alvin Hale, her sister Lucille Hale Bates, and her daughter-in-law Sheila Noonan Hilleary.
