Sheryl Faye Lyon

Sheryl Faye Lyon age 69 of Fairfield, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at her son David Toppings home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cary officiating. Cremation to follow the service and burial of cremains will be at a later date in Miller Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, March 4, 2016 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Sheryl was born to Wilbur and Dora (Skaggs) McWhirter on December 7, 1946 in Fairfield, Iowa. She married James Topping on November 16, 1963 in the Free Methodist Church in Birmingham. He died September 29, 1972.

Sheryl has lived in the Fairfield area for 69 years. She was a cashier for Econo Foods for 35 years. Sheryl was a realtor for Green Prairie Realty and she liked helping others by working as an aide at Sunnybrook assisted living, and Seneca. She enjoyed going to the casinos, listening to Elvis, and thrift shopping. Sheryl really enjoyed being around kids, and spending time with family and friends.

Sheryl is survived by her two sons, David Topping of Birmingham and Chad (Margie) Topping of Lakeview Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Joshua (Becca) Topping ,Hilarie (Kyle) Lapoint, Laryssa Droz, Kaleb (Kearston) Droz, Natalie (Cole Everly) Droz; 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Ronnie (Krista) McWhirter; and one sister, Carol Hervey.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents.
