Shirley E. Ridgeway

            Shirley E. Ridgeway, 87, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Addington Place in Fairfield.

            Graveside services will be held at a later date at Bonaparte Cemetery in Bonaparte. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family with arrangements. 

            Shirley was born April 30, 1936 in Bonaparte, the daughter of James and Faye (Watts) Randolph. She married Thomas Ridgeway, June 18, 1953 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death May 26, 2020. 

            Shirley worked for United Telephone Company and Iowa State Bank. She enjoyed bowling and golfing, and spending time at the Walton Club and at their cabin in Robert’s Park along the Des Moines River. Shirley loved spending time with friends and family.

            Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Stan (Cheryl) Ridgeway of Iowa City and Ron (Ashlyn) Ridgeway of Raleigh, North Carolina; granddaughter, Nicole (Eric) Pershing of Liberty, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Leah and Ashlynn; her sister, Connie (Donnie) Ward of Donnellson; and lifelong, dear friend, Cleda Thomas. 

            In addition to h er husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lois Munford; and infant daughter, Kay Lynn.
