Shirley Rosann Stokes

Family visitation was held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 8, 2005 at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. Rev. Kurt Makower and Rev. Keevin Koch officiated. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Shirley Rosann Stokes was born on August 31, 1947, the daughter of Wilmer and Beulah Lauderman. She married Danny Johnston in 1964. After their divorce, she married Rich Stokes on November 14, 1981 in the First Christian Church in Fairfield.

Shirley was an instructor at the Athena Academy of Beauty Culture and most recently working at the Hair Cellar. She loved gardening, cooking and animals.

Survivors include her husband, Rich Stokes of Fairfield, her mother, Beulah Lauderman of Washington, brother Larry Lauderman of Pleasant Plain, children Neil Johnston and wife Jill of Des Moines, Denise Greiner and husband Jim of Fairfield and Laurie Stokes of Fairfield. Shirley was grandmother to six grandchildren.

Shirley's father and infant son preceded her in death.
