SSG Matthew R Good, age 29, formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, July 24, 2015 in Hawaii in a fatal accident.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2015, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Behner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 9:00 am, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.

He will be buried in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, Iowa with Military rites at 2pm.

Mr. Good is survived by a wife, Kallie; three children, Reese, Raylynn, and Lorenzo; adopted mother, Pam M. Good of Fairfield Iowa; his biological mom, Pam R Good of Fairfield Iowa; and his biological father, Leonard Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska.

Matt is a veteran of War, He joined the 224 engineers out of Mt. Pleasant Iowa on April 14th 2004. His unit was deployed to Iraq on Jan 1st thru Dec 8th 2005. He went active Duty 2007 then was stationed in Vilseck, Germany November, 2009. His Unit was deployed to Afghanistan June 1st, 2010 thru May 31st 2011. Upon returning he earned an ARCOM, combat and expert infantry badge, along with German Shoots and Sneers, and also graduated the NCO academy. In Sept 2013 the family was stationed In Hawaii on the island of Oahu. He continued his time in Hawaii where he was a squad leader in 1-27 BCO. In Feb 2015 he was deployed to Pathways training with Korean, Thai, and Philippine Armies and retuned in May 2015.

He grew up in Fairfield Iowa and was raised by his adopted parents, Bob and Pam Good. As a child, he learned to be a wonderful man and husband from his late Father Bob Good, and many other father figures in his life. Matt was a inspiration to his family, friends and fellow soldiers, with a persona that would instantly cheer anyone up. He was the true definition of a loving Husband, Father and Brother. His Memories will carry us all through each and every day. GOD AND TIME!
