Stephen Ray Dille, age 50, of Birmingham, IA, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 as a result of an automobile accident.

Memorial services were held 10:30 AM, Monday, August 28, 2006 at Birmingham Presbyterian Church (200 N. Water St.) with Rev. Michael Renken officiating. Burial of cremains was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham following the service.

The family requests memorials, in lieu of flowers to be made to the Dille Family.

Stephen Ray Dille was born April 25, 1956, in Fairfield, the son of Kenneth and Bonnie (Pruden) Dille. He attended Van Buren High School and graduated with the Class of 1974. Steve married Nadine Siemers on January 28, 1983 in Fairfield. They are the parents of two children: Derek and Melissa.

Steve worked with his grandparents, Clyde and Gertrude Dille, as well as his father at the Farmers Store in Birmingham, before his employment at Fairfield Chain and Cable. For the last 16 years, Steve was employed at Harper Brush Works in Fairfield.

Steve enjoyed telling jokes, spending time with his family and attending the children's school activities. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Chiefs, and NASCAR (particularly Jeff Gordon), and visited with his friends at the Pump & Pizza.

Steve is survived by his wife, Nadine and their children, Derek and Melissa, and his parents: Kenneth & Bonnie Dille, all of Birmingham, as well as two sisters and two brothers: Vicky (Dave) Hyde of Birmingham, Mike (Laura) Dille of Ottumwa, Crista (Terry) Meade of Birmingham, and Tim (Pam) Dille of Fairfield, and several nieces and nephews..

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents: Gertrude & Clyde Dille of Birmingham and Goldie & Gilbert Pruden of Fairfield.
