Steven was born in Keosauqua, IA, the son of Elsworth & Patricia Watkins Cook. He married Tammy Foreman on August 25, 1985 in Fairfield, Ia. They were the parents of three sons, Corey, Chris and Tyler.
Steven lived most of his live in the Pleasant Plain and Birmingham Communities. He was a graduate of the FHS Class of 1981 and was employed on the Dryer Line at Dexter Company in Fairfield.
Steven was a member of the B.P.O.E. Fairfield Lodge #1192 and the North American Hunting Club. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
Survivors include Steven's mother, Patricia, his wife, Tammy, their children, Corey, Chris and Tyler, his mother-in-law, Betty Wallace, all of Birmingham, IA and Steven's brother and three sisters; Elsworth Cook, Jr. of Fairfield, Teressa Cook of Birmingham, Jackie Weber of Pleasant Plain, IA and Pam Blakley of Fairfield.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Elsworth and one nephew, Austin.
Funeral Services were held 1:30 PM, Friday, January 21, 2005 at the Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial, with Military Rites, was in the Miller Chapel Cemetery on Hwy. #16, rural Stockport.
Family Visitation was held 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday here at the Funeral Home.
At the family's request, memorials may be sent in care of Behner Funeral Home for an education memorial in Steven's name.
