Teresa E. Thomas

            Teresa E. Thomas, 66, a resident of Keosauqua, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. 

            Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with the family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 1^st at Behner Funeral Home. Burial will be at Iowaville Cemetery in Selma. Memorials may be made to Leave No Veteran Behind. 

            Teresa was born June 19, 1957 in Fairfield, the daughter of Russell L. and Eleaner “Sunny” (Dwire) Schafer. She married Donnie Hopper and from this union brought her three children. She married Jeff Thomas, April 2, 1996 in Fairfield. 

            Teresa loved being outside with nature; mushroom hunting, fishing, hunting geodes, and gardening. She loved her cats and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

            Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Jeff; children, Aaron (Natalie) Hopper of Fairfield, Ashley (Shauntel) Hopper of Wilton, Iowa, and Jessica Craun of Winfield; grandchildren, Kaleb, Maison, and Emma Hopper, Wyatt and Halle Babcock, Allie, Korbin, Briley, and Lily Hopper, and Paige, Murphy, Sarah, and Vincent Craun; great-grandchildren, Melody and Theodore Hopper; her mother, Sunny Little of Perry, Iowa; and her brother, Jeffry (Lynn) Schafer of Fairfield. 

            She was preceded in death by her father, Russ; and brother, Walter.
