Troy Stevens, age 73 of Fairfield, IA, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 14, 2009.

Family visitation will be held 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 18th at Wright Cemetery on Glasgow Road with Pastor Danny Cary officiating.

Troy Stevens was born in Unionville, MO on March 31, 1936, the son of Charlie and Viola (Trenter) Stevens. He was united in marriage with Donna May Vogt in Mt. Pleasant, IA on June 14, 1958.

Mr. Stevens was a devoted husband and father. He was employed for 27 years at Chain & Cable until it closed. Being an accomplished carpenter and plumbing contractor, he then built many homes in the Fairfield community.

Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife, Donna of Fairfield, and his children and their families: Jeannine Simmons and husband Phil, and Matthew 'Bonz' Stevens all of Fairfield. He was blessed with four grandchildren: T.J., Jessica, Joshua, and Seth. Survivors include siblings: Emma Jane (Jack) Clark of Mercer, MO, Charles (Lily) Stevens of Unionville, MO, Sue Ann (Jack) Heath of Helena, MO, Maggie (Lonnie) Fishel of Unionville, MO, and Armenda (Duane) Schlarbaum of Oark, TX, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Angie Kathleen Behrens and two sisters: Ollie and Ida Mae.
